We are a family of animal lovers. With the exception of my freshman and sophomore years of college, I have always had at least one pet to calm my nerves. As a write, I am the proud mama of two mutts and a cat. I think I am addicted to the doughy eyes, tender kisses, and gentle (or not so gentle) nudges they all give. I just feel at peace having them around. We consider their needs when going om vacation, when buying a house, and when scheduling activities for the week. We love our pets. But, sometimes love just ain't enough. :)

In my earlier
post written while we were on vacation, I wrote about the difficulties I have walking the dogs. Well, now the cat needs an antibiotic cream rubbed into her ear twice daily. Holy crap, have you ever tried to put drops into a cat's ears? Much less rub them in? Now try to do it with one hand. My left arm is great for pining her down, but without some dexterity, she wiggles loose. And for Christ's sake, is it necessary to scratch on the final push. Seriously Snow White, it adds insult to injury. I'm already being outmaneuvered by a 9 pound cat that can't escape from a paper bag.

Some how a deaf cat who will let Maia drag her around by the tail, senses my every move and avoids me at all costs. And even better? She has the dogs in on the game. Freaking traitors! They sound the alarm as soon as I grab the antibiotic. Pepper could be 3 rooms away and 11 years old, but she will find the cat and sniff her. That "sounds" the alarm and Chupí starts running interference. If there is one thing the awkward lady can't handle- it's fast moving obstacles. That darn cat, if I end up with cat scratch fever, her new name will be lo mein...

***Hilarious Update- Geoff: "Misty, she is just a cat. It can't be that hard." Misty: "Okay, whatever, just hold onto her for me please." Geoff: "Shit! My jugular." Don't worry it was a simple scratch, but enough to brighten my day.******
